Four days of fun, interactive lectures and discussion groups
Student Seminar in Lancaster a great success 6-9 September saw the 2007 SPVS Student Seminar at Lancaster University.
The four-day event saw over 200 students attend a variety of lectures focusing around the entrance into the veterinary profession and the challenges and opportunities faced. An intensive event, students crammed in a full day of lectures, discussion groups and panel seminars followed by the popular social activities in the evenings, including the competitive games night on the Saturday evening.
BSAVA were pleased to take part in the event, both as a sponsor and in order to provide a face to the Association for our e-student members. Our stand gave students the opportunity to become a member, discuss the benefits on offer, volunteer to be a Steward at Congress, submit abstracts to Congress and take advantage of the give-aways!
We would like to thank those students who gave up some of their lunch hour to take part in the focus groups for BSAVA. Your comments and suggestions were really useful and have already had an impact on your membership and how we promote ourselves to veterinary students. Also thanks to those of you who spoke to us about the Association in your own time, your feedback is really important to us and does make a difference.
If it wasn't your year to attend this year then we very much hope you will go along next year. The date for next year’s seminar is 18-21 September and we can guarantee it really will be a weekend not to be missed!
